Niko Karetsos

Please join me in congratulating Niko Karetsos, Pace Academy, for being the 1st Stars & Stripes Alumni in the Class of 2023 to officially commit to play collegiate lacrosse. Niko will continue his career playing NCAA Division I Lacrosse for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in Chapel Hill, NC. Niko is the 35th Stars & Stripes Lacrosse Alumni to commit to play lacrosse in the NCAA and the 15th player to be selected by a Division I program. Niko was the second officially registered player in the Stars & Stripes lacrosse program (behind only his brother). As the coach’s son, Niko played every position on the field to fill in gaps (even goalie), which gave him amazing field presence and knowledge of the game from multiple perspectives. Niko eventually settled into his attack position and benefitted tremendously by playing up two grades on his brother’s amazing 2021 Stars & Stripes Lacrosse team. Niko is a talented shooter who always drives to the cage looking to draw a slide and feed a teammate for an easy score. Stars & Stripes Lacrosse is very fortunate to have a player with Niko’s calm confidence and love for the game. Laura, Evan, Alex and I are tremendously proud of Niko’s work ethic and determination to achieve his dream of playing ACC collegiate lacrosse. “Storm the Hill”, Niko - the world awaits!
