Matt Barraco

Please join me in congratulating Matt Barraco, Parkland High School, for being the fourth Stars 

& Stripes Alumni in the Class of 2022 to officially commit to play collegiate lacrosse. Matt will continue his career playing NCAA Division I Lacrosse for the Harvard University Crimson in the prestigious Ivy League Conference in Cambridge, Mass. Matt is the 24th Stars & Stripes Lacrosse Alumni to commit to play lacrosse in the NCAA and the 11th player to be selected by a Division I program. Matt joined the Stars & Stripes Lacrosse program in 2014 to be part of our “Road to Denver” to play in the World Festival. I remember watching Matt play in his early years and thinking that he was a bull in a china shop. He loved contact whether he was playing attack, defense, or facing off. He always played with so much strength and determination. Matt was an excellent teammate, always supporting his friends with a quiet intensity. Matt joined us in many lacrosse adventures including our bus trip to Notre Dame and he was always interested in finding ways to improve his game. In his high school years, Matt gravitated to be a faceoff specialist, winning many awards along the way. Robert, Cheryl, Tori, Alex, Christian, and Brie should be very proud of his academic and athletic accomplishments and we look forward to following his collegiate career with them. “Storm the Hill”, Matt! The world awaits!
