GAVIN GIBBS

Please join me in congratulating Gavin Gibbs, Notre Dame High School, for being the second Stars & Stripes Alumni in the Class of 2022 to officially commit to play collegiate lacrosse. I am honored to announce that Gavin will continue his career playing NCAA Division I Lacrosse for the Syracuse University Orangemen in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in Syracuse, NY. Gavin is the 20th Stars & Stripes Lacrosse Alumni to commit to play lacrosse in the NCAA and the 9th player to be selected by a Division I program. And Gavin will reunite with fellow Alum, Chuck Kuczynski (2022), to create double Lehigh Valley trouble for their ACC opponents. Gavin was an early member of the Stars & Stripes Lacrosse program and became our first official face off-specialist. Notice that I didn’t say first official “FOGO” – that is because Gavin is the type of player that you want on the field playing both offensive and defensive midfield. Gavin is disciplined in his face-off technique and he successfully adapted to the new stance extremely quickly. But most of all, Gavin is strategic at the X and knows how to use his wing-mates effectively. And once we get the ball, he utilizes his speed to get us a numbers advantage and is capable of getting to the goal if they decide not to pick him up. Gavin always remains positive, even when he is challenged by a formidable adversary, and he comes to the sideline with creative ideas for his next opportunity at the X. His size, athleticism, focus, and determination are assets that will benefit him as he takes his game to the next level. Aaron, Rachelle, and Logan should be very proud of Gavin’s academic and athletic accomplishments and we look forward to following his collegiate career with them. “Punch the Clock” and “Go To Work”, Gavin! The world awaits!
