Please join me in congratulating Emily Hollinger, Emmaus High School, for being the third Stars & Stripes Alumni to officially commit to play collegiate women’s lacrosse. Emily will continue her career playing NCAA Division I Lacrosse for the Winthrop University Eagles in the Big South Conference in Rock Hill, SC. Emily is the 36th Stars & Stripes Lacrosse Alumni to commit to play lacrosse in the NCAA and the 16th player to be selected by a Division I program. Her brother, Justin, was already a key contributor on the 2021 boys Stars & Stripes team so Emily was very familiar with the culture and expectations of the program. Emily is the only Stars & Stripes player to play both boys and girls lacrosse. She started playing with the boys and was one of the most aggressive and technical players on the team. And then Emily convinced me that Stars & Stripes should have a girls program, as such she was the first officially registered player in the Stars & Stripes girls lacrosse program. Emily played with speed and finesse against older/bigger players the entire time. Her passion for the game enabled her to compete at a high level and her strong stick skills differentiated her from the pack. She brought tremendous enthusiasm and passion each time she stepped on the field. Emily demonstrated tremendous lacrosse IQ as she helped lead a team of fierce competitors against very strong Main Line girls lacrosse competition. This girls team played with a lot of heart and it was such a pleasure to coach alongside her mother, Coach Hollinger. Jed, Kendra, and Justin should be very proud of her academic and athletic accomplishments and we look forward to following her collegiate career with them. “Punch the Clock and Go to Work”, Emily! The world awaits!
